In the Malatya Municipality, the human trafficking scandal, which appears to be a trip abroad, emerged with the motion of the members of the CHP Council. It turned out that AKP's Akçakiraz Municipality also functions as a bridge in smuggling.

The municipality signed a protocol with the Association for Solidarity and Assistance of Immigrants to send 48 people, 2 of whom are municipal officials, to the city of Bremen between 24-30 November 2019 within the scope of the "Let's Not Throw Our Future to Waste" project. Under the protocol, passports with a service stamp were issued to individuals. About 20 people were sent due to problems in some of them, and only 3 returned.
