For Erdogan, the 'Soylu problem' has turned into a problem of staying in power
Soylu was one of the strongest candidates for AKP leadership after Erdogan. But Soylu is no longer in the AKP after Erdogan, but he has been dragged into a position where he can be a candidate for the leadership of the MHP after Bahceli.

Discussions about "He resigned" and "He will be dismissed" regarding Minister of Interior Suleyman Soylu had recently risen to the top of the political agenda.
In the last weeks;
• Erdogan's "low-profile" support to Soylu in the face of the accusations in Peker videos,
• Soylu not being invited to the "Governors meeting" and "Violence against women" held in the Palace, which directly concerns the Minister of Interior,
• The recent strengthening of currents against Soylu within the AKP; Despite claims such as "He presented two names to Bahçeli as the candidate for the Minister of Interior that Erdogan Soylu will fulfill", Devlet Bahceli put an end to the debates that emerged from the AKP and were reflected to the public.
Bahceli, who said, “Who said that Mr. Soylu has alone” at the group meeting of his party the previous day; With his well-known tone, he could not put Soylu on the ground, saying, "I would like to make a note of history that we never, ever accept the prestige assassinations, political lynching attempts, and accusations that amount to persecution against our Minister of Interior, Mr. Suleyman Soylu."
In the message he shared on his Twitter account, Soylu said, “...I am grateful for our elder MHP Chairman Dr. Devlet Bahceli for his trust and belief. God bless,” he wrote.
THE TARGET IN BAHÇELİ'S SPEECH IS ERDOĞAN AND AKP!
Whenever Soylu was in trouble, Bahceli immediately rushed to his aid.
For example, Bahceli, who supported Soylu when he resigned in the face of rising reactions after the well-known "curfew" turned into a scandal on April 12, 2020, praised Soylu's actions and asked him to withdraw his resignation. Erdogan, too, did not accept the resignation and pleased Bahçeli, although he probably regrets it now.
In the face of Sedat Peker's targeting of Soylu in his videos, Bahçeli said, "No one will be able to put a collar around his of the T.C. Minister of Interior”, but also made it mandatory for Erdogan, who will speak at the AKP Parliamentary Group a day later, to make a speech that sided with Soylu.
In the first two cases mentioned above, while defending Soylu, Bahceli's target was not Erdogan and the AKP. Of course, although Bahçeli's defense of Soylu implicitly conveyed the message "I will not touch Soylu" to Erdogan and the AKP, the real and clear target was not the AKP and Erdogan. In Bahceli's speech the previous day, although Bahceli and Soylu, who thanked him, seem to be giving a speech against an abstract enemy, this time the real target is AKP and Erdogan. Because the allegations that Soylu "resigned" and "will be dismissed" were brought to the public by the winds blowing from the AKP.
Erdogan has been waiting for an opportunity to dismiss Soylu for a long time. In the face of Peker's disclosures, despite Bahçeli's push from behind, the only verbal statement "I was with you, I am with you, I will be with you" and the protocol applications made as if Soylu was not the Minister of Interior, Erdogan forced Soylu to resign, there was no opportunity to dismiss him.
MHP IS NOW A DE FACTO COALITION PARTNER!
Thus, the issue of Soylu, which is a child's play for one-man Erdogan, such as dismissing a minister and appointing another minister by considering the balances within the AKP, has become a question of whether the People's Alliance will continue, in other words, whether or not to stay in power.
Just as Erdogan has made the country doomed to western imperialism with his foreign and economic policies, he has also made himself doomed to Bahceli and his MHP with his domestic policy.
After this time, the MHP is not only a partner of AKP and Erdogan's People's Alliance, but also a de facto one-man government coalition partner!
In other words, Bahceli and the MHP have become not only those in power with their ideas, but also the partners of power with their ideas.
Bahçeli and MHP now have at least one minister (interior minister) in the cabinet.
For MHP and Bahçeli, the constant adjustment of Erdogan and AKP through Soylu is a sign of empowerment for them, albeit temporarily. However, the same empowerment is not available for Soylu. On the contrary, Soylu has been exposed to more "mobbing" in the cabinet and party from now on, and he has come to the end of his political adventure in the AKP. Soylu's end in the AKP seems to be limited to the "end" of the People's Alliance.
THERE IS NO FUTURE LEFT WITHIN THE AKP FOR SOYLU
Of course, Soylu's adventure in the AKP may be shortened if Bahceli decides to sacrifice Soylu as a burden on the MHP.
When we say "the end of one-man rule" or "the end of the People's Alliance", we are not talking about a very long future here. It is a fact that everyone knows that Erdogan and his party will not win the first election to be held under more or less "normal" conditions, even if the popular support of the People's Alliance eroded rapidly and lost its legitimacy to stay in power. First of all, Erdogan and Bahceli know this.
Here we can add the following for Soylu's future:
Until recently, Soylu was one of the strongest candidates for AKP leadership after Erdogan. But Soylu is no longer in the AKP after Erdogan, but he has been dragged into a position where he can be a candidate for the leadership of the MHP after Bahceli. Unless, of course, Bahçeli is torn apart by the wolves inside the MHP, which sees itself as the leader!
