Ercument Akdeniz, Chair of the Labour Party of Turkey (EMEP) and Murat Sarısac, the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Van deputy, attended the "Where is Turkey going, what should it do?" event organized by the EMEP Ardahan provincial organization. Many citizens attended the event held at the Dursun Akcam Cultural Center. Speaking at the panel, Akdeniz called for rallies against the price hikes everywhere and repeated his call to establish a revolutionary democratic people's power. Akdeniz said, "The worker dragged on the ground in Trakya and the peasant condemned to starvation in Ardahan share the same fate." HDP deputy Sarısac said that the peoples can get out of this pressure by creating a strong common mind.
CAPITALISM IS LIVING A CRISIS
HDP Van Deputy Sarısac stated that capitalism is going through a crisis, stating that "Capitalism will reinvent itself if alternatives cannot be developed”. Sarısac said, "Rojava is in a key position in the Middle East. It has shown that all different ethnic structures and beliefs can coexist. Rojava's establishment of an autonomous structure also contributed to the increase in pressures in Turkey."
WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE BY CREATING A NEW SYSTEM
Sarısac said that the AKP government turned to Islamism after the attacks initiated by ISIS between 2011 and 2015 and that it took the leadership of Islamic countries, and then turned to Turkism.
Saying that the opposition could not find a solution to Turkey's permanent problems, Sarısac said, "One side defends the one-man rule, while the other defends the strengthened parliamentary system. There is no defence for change! The strengthened parliamentary system has already been tried. Dermis Massacre, Execution of Deniz and friends, Zilan Massacre, 17 thousand unsolved murders, "It happened in the parliamentary system. This system, which was created a century ago, does not solve the problems. It is possible to bring about change by creating a new system," he said.
WE CAN GET OUT OF THIS JUNGKE WITH A UNITED MIND
Saying that a period of restoration is being calculated, Sarısac said, "They want Turkey to be governed by them again. Aksener has assumed this role. The CHP also pretends to be excluding socialists and Kurds. The chronic understanding of government cannot be eliminated with either of these two understandings. "It is possible to change this order with an understanding that we define as 'the third way. We can solve the crisis of capitalism with a single socialist understanding. We can get out of this pressure by creating a strong common mind," he said.
A COUNTRY THAT IS DEPENDENT ON FOREIGN FUEL AND SEED
Ercument Akdeniz, President of EMEP, gave examples from his two-day trip and conveyed the problems experienced by education workers and producer villagers. Stating that they are a foreign-dependent country for diesel and seeds, Akdeniz said, "There are chain markets even in a town. They determine everything. If it goes like this, they will also determine the prices of goose. This monopoly took place during the AKP period." Reminding that the medium-term economic program has been announced, Akdeniz reminded that the interest on the debt to be paid in four years is one trillion liras, and only 240 billion liras in 2022, stating "We will pay for this. This will come out of the worker, out of the worker, out of the unemployed person".
INVOICES ARE COMING IF ERDOGAN ECONOMY TAKES FLIGHT
Reminding Erdogan's words "The economy took flight", Akdeniz said, "Whenever Erdogan says he has taken flight, winged bills come. Natural gas, electricity and basic foodstuffs are all over his head. We are facing a rain of raises. This winter will be very difficult, very heavy" he said.
LET'S ACT WITHOUT WAITING
Calling for action, voice and unity without waiting for the election, Akdeniz called for local forces to organize rallies all over the country against price hikes and the high cost of living and said, "If the problem of living is our concern, we can act together, no matter which party we voted for. It is necessary to establish unions from the locals".
THIS ALLIANCE OF THE RIGHT WILL EAT YOU
Mentioning that the Kurdish problem is an important one, Akdeniz said that the Kurdish people exist together with their rights, reminding the words of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroglu about the Kurdish problem, "How will you solve the problem? It is necessary to be open." Asking the CHP, "Why don't you post photos with HDP, EMEP and other socialists first," Akdeniz said, "This right-wing alliance will eat you."
AKDENIZ, VISITED ARDAHAN COUNCIL
Ercument Akdeniz visited Ardahan Municipality within the scope of the program prepared by Ardahan Provincial Organization. Akdeniz was welcomed by Deputy Mayor Erdal Kara. During the meeting, views on municipal work were exchanged.
REVENUES GO TO DEBT
Speaking at the meeting held at the city hall, Kara said that Turkey has been pushed to the edge of a precipice, but this will be overcome with strength and cooperation. Saying that they took over a debtor municipality and most of their income went to debt payments, Kara said that they were able to carry out works with the contribution of CHP metropolitan mayors.
LOCAL COUNCILS UNDER GOVERNMENT PRESSURE
Ercument Akdeniz said that local councils are under the pressure of the government, their projects were not approved, they could not get enough budget, and they continued on their way with the support of metropolitan municipalities, stating, "This is the picture of the one-man system."
Saying that the working villagers from Ardahan could not get paid for their labour and were condemned to starvation, Akdeniz emphasized forming local unions.
