During the march held last week to protest the "Green Transition" certificate brought to combat Kovid-19, unions protested the attack of the fascist group Forza Nuova (FN) on the Italian General Business Confederation (CGIL) Headquarters, the country's largest labour union.

The attack on CGIL Headquarters and fascism were protested at the rally, which was organized by CGIL and other labour unions, in the capital's San Giovanni Square, attended by 200,000 people, according to the organizers, and 50 thousand people, according to police sources.

Speaking at the rally, CGIL Secretary General Maurizio Landini said, "This is a demonstration in defence of democracy. This is our theme. The attack on CGIL is an attack on all unions and indeed on the dignity of work of the whole country. And we are here not to defend one but to defend and expand democracy."

While calls for the closure of the fascist group FN were also made at the rally, banners with the words "No to fascism", "Fascism never again" and "More work" took place.

Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, 5 Star Movement (M5S) leader Giuseppe Conte, Democratic Party (PD) leader Enrico Letta, PD's Rome Mayor Candidate Roberto Gualtieri also attended the rally. (EVRENSEL DAILY)
