Labour Party of Turkey (EMEP) Chair Ercument Akdeniz visited Basak Demirtas.

During the Meeting of Başak Demirtas and Ercüment Akdeniz, the failure to implement the ECHR decision on Selahattin Demirtas, the importance of fighting together against the problem of law, economy and democracy in the country was highlighted.

"THERE CAN BE NO FREE CHOICE UNLESS DEMİRTAŞ AND HIS FRIENDS ARE FREE"

Speaking during a meeting with Başak Demirtas, Akdeniz stated that the law should be applied against Demirtas and political prisoners.

Akdeniz said that in the face of the lawlessness applied to Demirtas, they stand with Demirtas and stand in solidarity.

Referring to a recent statement by President and AKP Leader Erdogan, Akdeniz said, Mothers' tears, children's drama cannot be competed.

Akdeniz, “I bring the greetings of my wife Dilek and women members of EMEP. I convey a high sense of solidarity. We are with the Demirtas family. Demirtas is one of the best sons of these people. With Turkey at such a critical juncture, there can be no free election unless Demirtas and his friends are free. We will fight this together.

What the government should do is follow the rules of universal law,” Akdeniz said, suggesting Demirtaş's book, Efsun, to young people.

“THIS LAWLESSNESS AFFECTS ALL PEOPLES, NOT JUST THE DEMİRTAS FAMILY”

Başak Demirtas stated that Demirtas was kept in jail by the political power despite the ECHR decision and underlined that all the peoples of Turkey were affected by the lawlessness in the country.

Başak Demirtas, “I spoke to Selahattin, I told him you were coming, he was very happy, he asked me to convey his greetings. We're going through a very difficult time as a country. I'm afraid everything's going very badly. We must continue to fight to get our country back on the straight. There is an ECHR decision regarding Selahattin that has not been implemented. But the law is trampled on. This isn't just about Demirtas and Kavala. This lawlessness does not only affect the Demirtas family, but as the people of Turkey, we are all affected as 84 million.

Başak Demirtas emphasized that “We can reach the good free days in a timely way by fighting together.

After the speech, Ercüment Akdeniz, leader of EMEK, signed and presented his Eighth Continent book for Başak Demirtas and Selahattin Demirtas.

Başak Demirtas presented the new novel 'Efsun' written by Selahattin Demirtas to the Akdeniz. (EVRENSEL DAILY)
