The tariff table for November was published on the website of Oil Transportation by Pipelines AŞ (BOTAŞ). Accordingly, the sales price that BOTAŞ will apply to gas distribution companies for residential consumers in November has remained unchanged at 1488 liras for 1000 cubic meters of natural gas, as in the current tariff.

BOTAŞ, DEFENDED THE PRICE RISES

Making a statement about the gas price increases, BOTAŞ claimed that the high energy prices around the world did not impact the consumers in Turkey at the same rate. BOTAŞ stated that there was no increase in residential customers this month. However, the increase in industrial prices will directly affect the household budget by reflecting the rise in basic consumption materials and electricity-generating subscribers on electricity bills.

İn the statement BOTAŞ refered to the data from  HEPI (Household Energy Price Index) to argue that consumers in Turkey hasd access to the most economic gas prices in the whole of Europe.

The statement said that consumers were exposed to high energy prices due to the fluctuations in the world and European energy markets since the beginning of the year. The statement continued; "the consumers in our country have not been subjected to the high energy prices experienced all over the world at the same rate. All types of consumers have been substantially protected. The stage we have reached, as of November the 1st, has made it necessary to draw up regulations which aimed to protect our customers’ needs as best as possible. There has been no change to household gas tariffs in November. Reflecting the increase in costs, the tariffs offered to large industrial and commercial establishments were increased by 48.40 percent and the natural gas tariff used for electricity generation was increased by 46.82 percent."
