Lenin's thesis of the inevitability of wars in the epoch of imperialism, which he described as the highest stage of capitalism, also points to the ground on which private military companies, which have a market of hundreds of billions of dollars, are built in the world today.
Assistant. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Filiz Çulha Zabcı makes the following observation in her study titled The Secret Side of New Wars: Private Military Companies; The US war on 'terrorism' and 'rogue states' after September 11 was also a turning point for private military companies. At a time when the UN has lost its power and international law has become invalid, private military companies that exists in an area where there is a legal vacuum and work entirely for the purpose of 'profit' have found a wide range of action.
In her study published in 2004, Zabcı states that according to the data published by ICIJ (International Consortium of Investigative journalists), there are nearly 90 private military companies in the world operating in across 110 different countries. Zabcı emphasizes that there is talk of an industry of 100 billion dollars annually in which these companies are involved. These private military companies are usually established in the United States, Britain and South Africa. A more up-to-date figure is given on the INSAMER (Humanitarian and Social Research Centre) website, which was established within the IHH (Humanitarian Relief Foundation) during the AKP-era: "When we look at the world in general, it is estimated that the CSEs constitute an average market of 200-250 billion dollars."
This is a figure given as of the first month of 2022. We're probably talking about a bigger market right now.
The private military companies are a continuation of the Mercenary trade, which has a very old history, in today's world; The private military companies have been used and are being used by both the big capitalist countries of the West, led by the USA, and Russia in various war zones.
Zabcı stated that, "similarly to its position during the war, Iraq has become a 'gold mine' for private military companies in the aftermath of the war’. According to a study by The Guardian, these private companies are the biggest power in Iraq after the Pentagon. According to official coalition records, Britain's military strength is around 9,900 troops, while the total number of special military forces is 10,000, or to put it another way 1 in 10 soldiers in the U.S. is a private agent recruited from private companies."
It was also brought to the agenda that Russia used mercenaries in Crimea and Ukraine.
There is a serious service that private military companies provide to states in the post-Cold War world. These structures, which are supervised by the intelligence services of the countries where they are established, offer states that are limited by certain legal norms the opportunity to see their dirty deeds through them. Sort of like a protective glove.
In terms of SADAT, which was founded based on examples seen in the West, we need to talk about an agenda specific to the AKP period. On the 15th anniversary of the February 28 coup, (February 28, 2012) SADAT was established by former soldiers who were expelled from the Turkish Armed Forces or forced to leave during the February 28 process. SADAT was established through an announcement in the Newspaper; It is a body undoubtedly controlled by the National Intelligence Organization and the defence units of the state.
However, at a time when all these institutions are connected to the AKP's one-man rule and the party-based presidential system, what could be more natural than questioning the relationship between party interests and SADAT? The fact that Adnan Tanrıverdi, one of the founders of SADAT, was also the chief advisor to the Presidency is a serious reason why SADAT has Islamic goals. The fact that he expresses himself for ideological purposes gives him a different context from other examples in the world.
In today's world where inequality is deepening and poverty is growing, private military companies, not only offers income for retired senior officers, but it also offers a relatively better wage for the world's poor. In return for risking their lives they get a better wage than a factory worker.
By putting your life at risk and selling your services (which is your life) to private military companies, who works in coordination with the armies of the state, it is as if you are fulfilling a national goal. SADAT adds a religious glue on top of this.
Private military companies operate as moneyed killer networks that use the luxury of rule breaks afforded to them by these companies in many parts of the world to create profitable areas of action.
SADAT, on the other hand, in the statements made by Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu to Dilek Gül from Euronews, said: While clarifying the words "If anti-terror books are opened in the period leading up to the November 1, 2015 elections, many people will not be able to appear in front of people", it should be considered together with the fact that he listed these people as "Mr. Erdoğan, Binali Yıldırım, Süleyman Soylu and Berat Albayrak".
We will probably talk more about SADAT, which is mentioned as a potential to create chaos among Sedat Peker's confessions.
