The court in Athens found the Neonazi Golden Dawn party guilty of  “operating as a criminal organization”. Seven former deputies, including Party Leader Nikos Mikaloliakos, were found guilty of running the criminal organization.

The verdict hearing of the relevant court were made aware of the Neonazi Golden Dawn party, which was brought to the agenda with many racist attacks in Greece and was in the Parliament in previous periods.In the morning tens of thousands of anti-fascists gathered on Alexandras Street and were chanting “They are not innocent. Nazis to prison” slogans.

The court, which has been going on for over 5 years, was expected to decide today whether the Golden Dawn party is “a criminal organization”. The court will also announce its decision separately for 68 defendants, including the party's political leadership.

The most well-known case involves Golden Dawn’s Giorgos Roupakias who has confessed to murdering anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyass, or “Killah P”, stabbing the 34-year-old to death just after midnight on September 18, 2013, in Athens.

According to preliminary verdicts, Giorgos Roupakias, the murderer of  Pavlos Fyssas, was found guilty of all crimes.

Four defendants who attacked the unionists with PAME were found guilty. Five defendants who attacked an Egyptian immigrant fisherman were also found guilty.

On the other hand, the police attacked tens of thousands of anti-fascist demonstrators awaiting verdicts before the court. (EVRENSEL DAILY)
