Nearly 300 thousand applications for violation of individual rights were made to the Constitutional Court in 8 years

From September 23, 2012, when the right to individual application is granted, to December 31, 2020, 300 thousand people applied to the Constitutional Court. The Supreme Court ruled that at least one right was violated in 14 thousand and 27 applications during this period. Violation of the right to a fair trial took the first place in the distribution of violation decisions according to rights and freedoms with 63.3 percent.

Since the right of individual petition was brought to the Constitutional Court on September 23, 2012, 1342 people made individual applications.

The highest number of applications to the Constitutional Court was made in 2016 with 80,756. Applications were halved in 2017 and recorded as 40 thousand 530. The number of individual applications, which was 38 thousand 186 in 2018 and 42 thousand 971 in 2019, was 40 thousand 402 as of last year. (EVRENSEL DAILY)
