TTB shared the statistics: Talking about the decrease in the number of Covid cases is deceiving the society

Turkish Medical Association (TTB) reported that 55% of Turkey's population in the 21 provinces, the total deaths in the week 14th-20th April were more than 58 percent from the previous three-year average and announced that there were 1,117 extra deaths in Istanbul, which is more than 80 percent from the previous 5-year average.

The post shared on the TTB Twitter account was in response to In the Health Minister Fahrettin Koca's tweet, “There was a 20 percent decrease in the number of cases in Istanbul”.

“Talking about the 'drop in the number of cases' in this graph is clearly deceiving the public!” said TTB, “In the week of April 14-20; The total deaths in 21 provinces which is 55% of Turkey’s population is 58% higher than the average of the previous 3 years. The graph showing an upward trend said 1117 extra deaths in Istanbul, 80% more than the average of the previous 5 years.”
