The health ministry has just awarded the health minister assistant’s family company with a million-lira bid
The company founded by health minister assistant Sabahattin Aydin’s wife is already in charge of the ministry’s health portal “e-Nabiz” and has now been awarded with various new bids.
CHP MP Murat Emir has declared that the programming company that health minister assistant Sabahattin Aydın made his family found has received new bids from the ministry this year, too.
The company founded by health minister assistant Sabahattin Aydin’s wife is already in charge of the ministry’s health portal “e-Nabiz” and has now been awarded with various new bids.
“MUST RESIGN IMMEDIATELY“
According to a report of Cumhuriyet’s Erdem Sevgi CHP Ankara MP Murat Emir underlines that that company sold millions of liras worth of programming services to the ministry and states: “The bids are again based on law 21/B and have the same recipient as before. Whenever the ministerial assistant takes up office, his family deceptively sells their shares and buys them back afterwards. This is no different than how Ruhsar Pekcan sold disinfectant to his ministry. He must resign immediately.”
In a speech at the Turkish parliament’s general assembly six months prior CHP member Emir had already shed light on Aydin’s company “Bilbest Yazilim” that he founded through his wife and was later transferred to his son Muhammed Ikbal Aydin. According to Emir, this company that won the e-Nabiz tender as a subcontractor also received orders worth 5.128.000 TL through bids in the last five years. Bilbest is receiving contracts from the health ministry by direct invitation even in 2021, he added and handed the parliament’s president a written question to be answered by health minister Fahrettin Koca.
Noting that the company in which the health minister assistant’s wife and son are partners is still receiving well paid ministerial contracts, Emir explains: “Sibel Aydın [Sabahattin Aydin’s wife – translator’s note] founds the company in 2002 and once her husband becomes undersecretary assistant, she transfers the shares to Yunus Sengul. Later, those shares circulate between Yunus Sengul, Mehmet Zahid Ercan and Muhterem Ercan. After Aydin’s duty at the ministry ends, the shares are transferred to his son Muhammed Ikbal Aydin in 2011. When Aydin returns to the ministry, the shares are transferred to Muhammed Ikbal Aydin on December 11, 2020. So, whenever Aydin is working for the ministry, the company shares are deceptively sold to others on paper, while the Aydin family retains de facto ownership.”
EMIR’S QUESTIONS FOR THE MINISTER
Did the undersecretary assistant in the health ministry in 2004, Sabahattin Aydin, pressure hospital managers while he was holding this position to make his wife’s company win tender?
Did Sibel Aydin, who left the company by transferring her shares, uphold her ties to the company through other means?
Since Bilbest’s founding, how many tenders did it win from the health ministry and public hospitals and what is the total sum of these? (EVRENSEL DAILY)
