Increase to the price of bread in Istanbul: 220 g of bread now 2.5 lira

Bread was also increased in Istanbul following successive increases in electricity, natural gas, fuel, food and other consumer goods.

The application of the bakers who applied to the Istanbul Governor's Office and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce last week to raise bread has been finalized.

After the application was accepted by the Istanbul Governor's Office, 220 grams of bread were increased by 50 cents. The new price of bread sold for 2 lira was 2.5 lira.

42 PERCENT INCREASE IN ONE YEAR!

The last increase in bread throughout Istanbul was made in May 2021, with prices increasing from 1.75 lira to 2 lira. With the latest increase, bread in Istanbul has increased by about 42 percent in a year. (EVRENSEL DAILY)
