Labour Party: Is Kayseri’s 100 million nation garden not a waste?

Kayseri Provincial Organization of Labour Party (EMEP) raised objection to the 100 million nation garden.

In the announcement stating “Municipal budgets should be set aside for labourers,” it also questioned “Is the 100 million nation garden of Kayseri not waste?”

It was also stated “A fund is set aside for nation garden, but for labourers, there is only price hikes. Recall the price increases at once.”

President and AKP Leader Erdogan saying “No toleration for waste,” Emine Erdogan suggesting people “make their meal portions smaller,” AKP MP stating “if they have bread crumbs, they are not starved,” AKP Kayseri MP Hulya Nergis stating “those on minimum wage can buy a property and a car very easily,” AKP Kayseri MP Ismail Tamer claiming “those on minimum wage have their cars in front of their houses...” Greater Kayseri Area Mayor Memduh Buyukkilic asserting “Kayseri public transportation fees are very comparable, take a look at those of Ankara and Istanbul...”

Officials of AKP stating in every opportunity that they are against “waste,” that the prosperity level of workers and labourers are on the rise, that our country is growing; is 100 million TL nation garden to be built in Kayseri not waste? Is it not waste to put in the nation garden “Kayseri Kitchen Arts Centre” valued at 16 million TL? While people deal with hunger, think how to get to the end of the month, those suggesting we make our “meal portions smaller” live in luxury, in self-indulgence. Enough is enough!

In this month that the poverty level approached 10,000 TL, that the starvation limit has passed 3,000 TL, is it not a lot of nerve to brag about “Kayseri Kitchen?​” Kayseri municipal government recently increased the transportation fares, parking rates, intercity travel fees. There is a funding set aside of over 100 million for nation garden, why is there no funding for public transportation? When it is for labourers, there are plenty of price hikes! Price hikes must be recalled immediately.

PRICE HIKES BE RECALLED AT ONCE!

On the other hand, problems of education are not resolved. While students are faced with difficulties in finding housing, dormitories, AKP is deeply occupied with nation garden. Do you know how many dormitories can be put in service with100 million blown on a nation garden? How many children of labourers could have education in better conditions, and how many new opportunities could be created for thousands of jobless youth. When the price hikes on utility bills are considered, the bills of thousands of families that unable to pay them could be paid off, and many more services could be provided for the people.

We call on the workers and laborers of Kayseri; those who drive us to live in hunger and poverty provide millions to their henchmen. They are trying to blind us with their fuss “they are building a Nation garden.” We all know that the debt of Kayseri municipality has reached sky high. The debt of AKP government and its municipalities has also reached sky high. Let’s put a stop to this conduct. Let’s demand that the price hikes be recalled on all from needle to string, and demand that that the wages be raised.
